Birdie Johnson

Meet Birdie Johnson, a Denver native whose journey from massage therapy to doula work began in 2010, igniting a profound passion for supporting pregnant women and families. As the Founding Executive Director of Mama Bird Doula Services and Owner of Mama Bird Maternity Wellness Spa, Birdie champions holistic well-being and reproductive justice, particularly within BIPOC communities. With 12 years of experience as a certified massage professional and multiple certifications as a Full Spectrum Doula and Lactation Educator, Birdie brings extensive expertise to her mission of promoting awareness and access to professional doula support. Through her community engagement and commitment to social causes, Birdie embodies compassionate support and wellness advocacy, making her the fearless leader of Mama Bird Doula Services.

Nyanna Quoi

Meet Nyanna Quoi, Mama Bird’s dedicated Perinatal Mental Health Therapist with a passion for fostering healthy individuals, relationships, and communities. Originally from the East Coast, she values authentic, connective relationships and strives to create a safe space for clients to explore their identities and unlock their freedom. Using a sociocultural and trauma-informed approach, Nyanna addresses issues related to relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma, personality and mood disorders, self-esteem, life transitions, women’s issues, racial injustice, LGBTQ+ issues, and identity development.

Ta'Shara Toombs

Meet Ta'Shara Toombs, a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience teaching, and Mama Bird’s newest doula. She brings joy and foundational skills to her students, fostering lifelong learning—an approach she carries into her work as a doula, supporting families with the knowledge and care needed for a positive childbirth experience. Ta'Shara, who resides in Colorado with her husband, is also a devoted mother to her 21-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter. Ta'Shara is committed to assisting new parents with advocacy, guidance, and referrals to community resources throughout the Denver-Metro area, covering self-care, lactation, and healthy parenting.
